sunny days ahead

sunny days ahead - paige ditullio

hi i hope you’re all having a good week :)

i mentioned in my last post that i was “happy as a clam” and i am here to report that hasn’t changed :) is the happiness level annoying to you? ha

it feels like i haven’t really done much to create this sense of contentment although it definitely takes effort - it starts with choosing it, and then continuing to make decisions that align with that choice.

change becomes inevitable when you decide what you want.

and i think one of the biggest obstacles to change is momentum. you know.. you’ll decide to start eating healthy and then someone brings you a cupcake or you want to wake up early and then you accidentally stay up too late that night, so you put it off. in the beginning, it’s hard to really get a grasp on change because you don’t feel like things are happening or you can’t really see that you’re making progress.

but at the same time.. how will you get into that four month groove if you don’t start?

i think starting is the hardest part.

lately, i’ve learned that you have to create your momentum.

of course, this is slightly different for everyone (which is the case when it comes to most things). not everyone has the “lightning bolt” moment to quit things out of the blue, but others don’t vibe with slow and steady.

no matter whatever you choose, just start.

ever since i’ve made a commitment to change, things have been sunny and happy and good.

not perfect, because of course there are always going to be things in life you can’t control, but things have been better.

and really.. all i see are sunny days ahead.

i hope the same for you, too.
