Ninja CREAMi Banana Protein Ice Cream

Banana has surprisingly been my favorite ice cream flavor for as long as I can remember. It’s hard to find and even harder to do well, so once I got my Ninja CREAMi I knew I wanted to try to create my own recipe at home - and the added protein doesn’t hurt, either. This recipe is extremely straightforward and easy to make; it tastes like a banana Laffy Taffy without being too sweet. I’ve also made it with real bananas (which I now prefer, honestly) and have included the modifications for that below, but if you want the standard low-cal, high-protein Ninja CREAMi, the original recipe will be your go-to. Either recipe will give you at least 30 grams of protein.

If you want to use real bananas, your ingredients will be:

to prepare:

  1. Combine all ingredients (except the mix-ins) and stir well. I just use a spoon, but some prefer to use a hand-held frother. Freeze overnight, or for at least 8 hours.

  2. Spin “Lite Ice Cream.”

  3. Scrape the sides. You might need to add 1-3 tablespoons of Fairlife milk (a splash or two).

  4. Re-spin.

  5. If you want to add mix-ins, add them into the center and then press “Mix-Ins.”

  6. Serve immediately.

    1. I’ve found that regular/ non-protein CREAMis are still good if you re-freeze and re-spin later on, but it’s not worth it for protein-based recipes.
