One of the things I appreciate most about Petco Park is that while they’re a for-profit venue, they understand that events can be costly and try to allow for compromises when it comes to bringing your own food and water into the park.
That said, while you can bring water into Petco Park, there are a few important rules to know before you go.

Even if you don’t think you’ll get thirsty, I highly recommend bringing your own water into Petco, especially during the hot summer months. If you’re trying to save money, this is one of the simplest things you can do and is an easy way to avoid paying stadium prices on something that isn’t “fun” or worth the higher cost.

Once inside, you can fill it at water stations or fountains.

Buying drinks inside the stadium adds up quickly.
Bringing your own water saves money, keeps you hydrated during long games, and reduces how often you need to leave your seat.
Even if you don’t think you’ll get thirsty, I’ve found you often have to talk louder at the game and having water can help you not lose your voice. Also the seats that face the sun can be brutal in the summer months, so bring a water bottle even if you don’t think you’ll need it.
