SIV Biome Balancing Serum Review
I’ve been dealing with the most obnoxious, recurring skin problems for over a year now - sporadic acne that turns to scabs and takes forever to heal (and leaves marks behind), texture, and dry patches. My skin is dry and sensitive, so I have to be careful with what products I use.
I’ve tried everything, and when I say that, I was also very patient with my skincare. You can’t really expect overnight results; it takes time for your skin to acclimate and for the skincare ingredients to really work their magic. But with over a year of trying and waiting, I had hit a wall.
I started following estheticians on Instagram to see if I could learn from them (without having to pay a crazy virtual consultation fee, to be honest) and saw a few mention SIV Biome Balancing Serum as a product that really does it all - heal acne, calm skin, and improve overall texture and feel. It seemed a little too good to be true, but it caught my eye as a product that contains physiologically identical ingredients that your skin recognizes. This product is meant to work with your skin, rather than just against the problem, so I felt like it was a safe product for my sensitive skin and couldn’t wait to try it. I’ve gone through a full bottle now, so I’m sharing my full review, experience, before and after photos, as well as whether or not I’d recommend it.
PS: This post is not sponsored; I bought SIV on my own and because it’s sold from SIV directly, none of the links are affiliate. Purely sharing to hopefully help someone else heal their skin!
siv biome balancing serum review
SIV Biome Balancing Serum is a spore-based product that works with your skin natural biome; it “communicates” with the bacteria cells and your biology to support and strengthen your skin’s ecosystem at its personal foundation. This helps make your skin more resilient, and balances the microbiome. It hydrates, calms, and soothes while “attacking” the problem in a more natural, less-aggressive (and less drying) way.
This serum is non-comedogenic, non-irritating, and basically helps realign your skin with factors that it recognizes.
As far as my review goes, I love SIV Biome Balancing Serum. The hype is legit; it really did help my skin, and it can target so many skin problems that it’s worth the price.
I worried that applying an oil to my acne cuts would just prolong their existence, kind of like how you sometimes have to let something scab up versus keep it covered in Neosporin to heal. I had tried different oils in the past, and they prevented scarring, but didn’t speed up the healing process.
With SIV Biome Balancing Serum, I didn’t notice overnight results, but after about two weeks, my skin felt so much better and was much more healed. I didn’t have any dry patches, no new acne or bumps had popped up, and the scabs had actually healed up. I was left with a couple of dark spots (I wouldn’t call them scars because they weren’t textured), but the spots weren’t as dark as they previously were.
For that reason, I believe SIV Biome Balancing Serum does what it says. It’s not the miracle product that’s going to give you bright, perfect skin, but it will go to the root and help you skin move from “fight or flight” high reactivity to a calmer, balanced state. It helps your skin do what it’s supposed to do, fights the bad bacteria, and feels like a gentle yet effective reset.
It’s not just for your face, either. I had burned my neck with a curling iron right before my SIV arrived, and then after it did, I burned my wrist cooking. I used SIV on the wrist burn and it healed quicker than the one on my neck, even though it happened later. Yes, the skin on your neck is thinner and more sensitive, but I found SIV to be more helpful than Neosporin overall.
I’ve also used it help heal a sunburn without peeling and treat an irritated ingrown hair - $74 is expensive for skincare, but this is one of the few products that offers lots of versatility.
That being said, this product does contain squalene so check the ingredients prior to using if you have any allergies.
how to use siv biome balancing serum
You can use this AM and PM.
Start by cleansing your skin, applying toner (if you use one).
Next, shake the SIV serum bottle vigorously before use to ensure proper mixing. The bottom of the bottle should be clear (it sometimes looks yellow after sitting).
Gently push the bottom of the dropper to release 2-5 drops. It comes out quick, so use a light touch.
You can apply SIV directly to your face, but it was easier for me to apply to my hands and then pat onto my skin.
Follow-up with your favorite moisturizer.
The routine I was using with SIV that I highly recommend:
Face Reality Barrier Balance Creamy Cleanser - this noticeably calms your skin. It’s creamy but not greasy, and felt like a dream on both my dry patches as well as the acne.
No toner; I have since incorporated this one but I was trying to keep it super minimal because I didn’t want anything extra irritating my skin
GlyMed Plus Comfort Cream - thick but not greasy, I can use this year-round and it feels incredibly soothing.

PS - these are my natural lashes; I use Grande Cosmetics GrandeLASH-MD Lash Enhancing Serum :)
where to buy siv biome balancing serum review
The downside to skincare is that oftentimes, you have to buy directly from the brand or through an esthetician, which isn’t as convenient as ordering from Amazon, Nordstrom, Sephora, etc. I love being able to earn points and use discount codes more than anyone, but I highly recommend buying SIV Biome Balancing Serum directly from the SIV website. It's $74 per bottle, but you can subscribe to save 10%. Some skincare retailers look legit but are not authorized sellers of that brand, and this product is going on your face, so you really do want to be safe rather than sorry.
is the siv biome balancing serum worth the money?
Yes, 100%. It’s $74 per bottle, and I’ll admit that I thought the bottle was really tiny when it arrived. I also tend to overuse skincare products because I want the results faster (doesn’t work, I know), but the bottle still lasted me 3 full months. You only need 1-2 drops as it’s a highly concentrated product, and it’s a lot more universal than other skincare products - it can be used for dermatitis, compromised barriers, reactive skin, rosacea, fungal acne, and more.
You really do get a lot of uses out of this product and for that reason, I’ll repurchase it, definitely will have it with me anytime I travel, and why I genuinely think it’s worth the money.
