Anti-Inflammatory Tropical Juice
I didn’t grow up drinking juice, and still don’t have much of a taste for it because I prefer vegetables to fruit. That being said, juice is a great way to sneak in extra vitamins and minerals, and this juice is one of the few you won’t want (or need) to water down. I know cilantro isn’t for everyone, but it helps reduce inflammation and detox your body from heavy minerals. Still, feel free to omit it - the ginger will still give your immune system a boost, and helps to keep the juice from being too sweet.
This recipe creates a true juice, but I’ll sometimes freeze the protein for more of a slushy texture. You can also add protein powder, ice, and an avocado or banana to thicken it up, make it creamier, and turn it into a smoothie/ protein shake - I’ve done this and loved it. Double or triple the recipe if you want enough for your whole house, but I personally find it’s worth it to make fresh each day, rather than bulk-batch this juice. It only takes a few minutes to make, no matter how busy you are. Hope you enjoy!
anti-inflammatory tropical smoothie
ingredients
Makes one glass
1/4 cup water (cold is best, but it can also be room temperature if you’re serving the juice over ice)

1 medium green apple, cored and finely chopped
1 medium English cucumber, peeled and finely chopped
Juice of 1 lime (around 2 tablespoons)
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and coarsely chopped
You could also use about 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger; just be sure to blend it really well.
to prepare:
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth (about 30-40 seconds).
Pour over ice in a glass and enjoy right away.
